Report: WADA may oversee NFL drug tests (AP)

By Zaket on May 10, 2011

FILE - An undated photo provided the U.S. District Court in Minnesota shows U.S. District Judge Susan Richard Nelson. Nelson has sided with NFL players and granted their request for a preliminary injunction to lift the lockout. Nelson issued her ruling late Monday, April 25, 2011. The ruling gives the players an early victory in their fight with NFL owners over a new collective bargaining agreement in the $ 9 billion business.

The NFL may turn to the World Anti-Doping Agency to oversee testing of players for performance-enhancing drugs, The New York Times reported, one of many changes it is mulling if forced by the courts to operate without a new collective bargaining agreement with the players. A federal appeals court could require the league to end the lockout and implement rules for operating this season.
